In September, the sixth Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2023 addressed India’s malnutrition challenge with 18
Nandghars at the forefront. These community centres educated mothers on the importance of balanced diets for their children.
Highlighting locally available foods like nuts, jaggery, and vegetables, the initiative showcased how these staples can improve the health of over 200 children. It also advised against processed foods to combat childhood obesity.
This campaign emphasises that locally sourced, nutrient-rich foods hold the key to tackling child malnutrition. By empowering mothers with knowledge and fostering community-driven change, the Rashtriya Poshan Maah 2023 and Nandghars are nurturing a healthier and brighter future for India’s children.
