This year we recognised the 53rd National Safety Day/Week 2024, with the theme “Focus on Safety Leadership for ESG Excellence,”. It marked a pivotal shift towards active safety leadership and the integration of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into our safety practices. Our commitment to safety remains a fundamental aspect of our business strategy, fostering a culture that prioritises safety, health, and well-being.
We organised a series of safety-themed activities throughout the week, including the launch of innovative safety management systems and a new Safety Mascot. These activities, aligned with specific focus areas such as ‘Confined Space and Mental Health’ to reinforce awareness about safe work practices among employees and business partners.
The participation of employees, business partners, and contract workforce across Cairn locations was instrumental in strengthening our collective awareness of safe work practices towards our vision of Zero Harm.
Highlights of the National Safety Week 2024 activities included:
- Safety Day Town Hall anchored by Dr. Steve Moore and Cairn leadership to imbibe a safe-work mindset with the administration of Safety Pledge.
- Week-long safety-themed activities comprising both digital and on-site events, including awards & recognitions, classroom sessions, and online trainings on various safety topics such as Confined Space, Work at Height, Process Safety, Mental Health, Electrical Safety & Isolation.
- Launch of the e-dispensation Management System and e-HSE Legal Permit Monitoring System to streamline safety processes.
- Introduction of a new and inclusive Safety Mascot to promote safety awareness.
Employees across Cairn locations actively participated in these activities, further strengthening our collective awareness of safe work practices towards our vision of Zero Harm.
