Cairn has long been committed to fostering community and well-being among its employees. As part of this vision, we have developed a state-of-the-art township in Barmer, Rajasthan. It is designed to provide a comfortable and enriching living environment for the workforce and their families.
The inauguration of our new township in Barmer, Rajasthan, was marked by a grand Pran Pratishtha (Temple Consecration) ceremony at the Mangala Processing Terminal (MPT) Operation Base from January 19 to 22, 2025. This four-day celebration was more than a ceremonial event; it was a spiritual journey, invoking divine presence within the Cairn family.
The festivities commenced on January 19, as our employees and their families gathered for an elaborate four-day havan. The programme featured the Murthy Pran Pratishtha, Shikhar Staphana, and Dwaja Rohan ceremonies, which were conducted with great reverence. Eminent priests from the ISKCON Temple, alongside Vedic scholars, chanted sacred mantras, infusing the atmosphere with an aura of spirituality and devotion.
A defining moment of the event occurred during the Purna Aahuti and Maha Aarti, attended by Deshnee Naidoo, Group CEO – Vedanta, along with our ELT & ManCo members and their families. This was followed by a special evening celebration at the YoL Camp, where the official name, ‘Mangalakunj,’ was unveiled—a name suggested by our employee from RJ North, Mr Anil Methwani, symbolising a significant milestone in our journey.
On January 24, celebrations continued with an exclusive tour of a sample flat, offering employees and their families a glimpse into their future homes. The evening concluded with a grand dinner, accompanied by an AV presentation that showcased the township’s vision and formally announced its name.
Senior leaders, including Hitesh Vaid, Subhadeep Khan, Mandeep Narang, Vinayak, Pravin Kumar and Brigadier B.S. Shikhawat, expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the dedication and hard work of all those involved in bringing this vision to life. Aligned with our Chairman’s vision, our new township is more than just a residential space; it is a vibrant community where employees and their families will find a true home. Rooted in the ethos of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—‘the world is one family’—this momentous occasion marks the beginning of a collective journey towards a future built on unity, purpose, and shared aspirations.
