Cairn Oil & Gas has spudded the Jaya SW-1 exploration well in the Bharuch District of Gujarat, India. This activity follows closely on the heels of our successful appraisal of the original Jaya discovery. Jaya was the first oil and gas field found within any of the awarded OALP licenses. The Jaya SW well targets a separate prospect and is the first in a potential 5-well campaign that will determine the reserves of this exciting block. The spudding of the third well at Jaya is a testament to Cairn’s commitment to fast-track exploration within the OALP blocks. The Jaya area, plus other exploration and appraisal wells being planned across the length and breadth of India, underpins our vision to increase our production to 50%.
