In a significant step towards promoting women’s health and cancer awareness, we partnered with the Rotary Club of Surat Hazira Bay to organise a Mammography and Cervical Cancer Screening Camp. Held at the Primary Health Centre in Suvali Village on August 27, 2023, this event aimed to raise awareness about cancer, its risk factors, and the critical importance of early detection.
Rotary Club and Alipor Hospital played a pivotal role by providing technical support through their dedicated medical staff and a mobile cancer detection unit. The camp was graced by the presence of Medical Officer Aswin Hadiya from Suvali, who participated in the inaugural session of this vital initiative.
The camp was meticulously designed to cover a broad spectrum of women’s health needs, specifically
targeting women above the age of 35 in Suvali and nearby villages. The iBreast Exam, a state-of-the-art breast cancer screening tool, was employed to ensure comprehensive coverage of the target population.
A team of experienced female doctors and nurses staffed the camp, equipped with the necessary tools and equipment to conduct mammograms and cervical cancer screenings effectively. This approach not only ensured the comfort and ease of participants but also fostered a safe and supportive environment for these critical screenings .
The camp, which covered 90 women, underscored Cairn Oil & Gas’ commitment to the well-being of the communities it serves. It exemplified our dedication to addressing health issues and promoting awareness about cancer prevention and early detection.
Through collaborative efforts and a focus on women’s health, we continue to make a positive impact in Suvali and neighbouring villages, reaffirming our commitment to the communities we operate in. This initiative is a testament to the power of partnerships and the collective effort to prioritize health and well-being.
