As part of our ongoing micro-level interventions across operational sites, we undertook a set of impactful activities that highlighted our commitment to community development and sustainability.
In Rajasthan, the inauguration of a transformative Summer Camp at the Gandhi Chowk School in Barmer was a significant milestone. It came alive with the energy and enthusiasm of local youth, including many dedicated female volunteers, as they inaugurated this transformative summer camp. This camp, running until June 25, aims to empower over 1,000 women through free vocational training in various skills such as stitching, beauty parlour skills, sketching and painting, mehndi, dance, anchoring, karate, and embroidery. Cairn proudly supports this initiative by funding the trainers’ remuneration. Additionally, our Nand Ghar movement campaign, benefiting around 800 students, was showcased, highlighting our dedication to community development.
Meanwhile in Gujarat, we celebrated Earth Day and Mother’s Day with a special emphasis on sustainability. The inauguration of new infrastructure at Bala Chitra, including an RO setup, motor machine, and the planting of a kitchen garden, served as a heartfelt tribute to mothers and showcased our commitment to environmental sustainability. Over 70 community members joined in the festivities, and we distributed 50 nutrition kits to expectant mothers and women with infants, containing nutritious items such as almonds, dates, lentils, and gram lentils.
In Assam, the inauguration of a Handloom center at the Hazarigaon wellsite and a handloom training camp marked another significant achievement. This six-day program, benefiting 26 Self-Help Groups (SHGs), equipped participants with valuable skills. Additionally, a community meeting with Village Development Committee (VDC) members at Nahorbari village fostered dialogue and community engagement, further strengthening our ties with the community.
These initiatives reflect our unwavering commitment to creating a positive impact at the grassroots level and fostering sustainable development across our operational regions.
