At the 5th International Oil and Gas Upstream Technology Conference (IOGTC) 2025, Cairn proudly stood at the forefront of innovation as a team of young and dynamic Cairnians took center stage to share our cutting-edge technologies with the global energy community. Covering themes across Geosciences, Reservoir Management, Drilling Innovations, Enhanced Oil Recovery and Production Excellence, the event brought together industry leaders, experts and trailblazers. Cairn’s presence wasn’t just felt, it was celebrated.

Ketan Kandari, Lead Analytics, brought pride to the entire Cairn family by winning the Best Paper of the Conference for his groundbreaking work, “Leveraging Generative AI for Oil and Gas”. Mayur Gupta, Associate Manager Digital, was also awarded the Third Best Paper Award for his paper on “Digital Permit to Work Management for Safety and Efficiency”. Their wins reflect the spirit of innovation that pulses through Cairn, where technology meets purpose and young minds drive real-world impact.

From plenary sessions to technical paper presentations, Cairnians showcased our breadth and depth of talent. Thought leaders like Atul Patni offered insights on digital transformation in the sector, while experts like Bishal Dutta, Sankhajit Saha, Madhur Mohan Tripathi, Alok Sharma, Angad Singh, Talha Moin, Ayush Singh, Arjun Singh Bakshi and others shared practical innovations that are already delivering value in the field. This was more than a conference, it was a moment of pride, collaboration and reaffirmation that Cairn’s future is in good hands.

Atul Patni, Head – Digital, was a part of a Plenary Session on ‘Issues and Challenges in Upstream Oil & Gas Sector’ discussing Digital Transformation in Upstream Oil & Gas Sector.

Bishal Dutta, Petroleum Engineer, presented his paper ‘Integrating Geomechanical, Reservoir and Wellbore Parameters to establish Fraccability Index (FI) for Tight Gas Volcanic Reservoirs: A Data Driven Approach’.

Sankhajit Saha, Geomechanics Specialist, presented his paper ‘Enhancing Well Integrity and Drilling Efficiency through Geomechanics and Reservoir Navigation in a Highly Deviated Well: A case study from Rajasthan, Barmer Basin, India’.

Madhur Mohan Tripathi, Petroleum Engineer, presented his paper ‘HPAM-based Well Cleanout in Challenging Conditions: A Cost-Effective Chemical Approach with Field-proven Results’.

Alok Sharma, Senior Petroleum Engineer, presented his paper ‘Enhancing Operational Efficiency Through Optimized Well Completion Strategy and Workflows in Tight Gas Volcanic Fields’.

Angad Singh, Lead – Digital Transformation, presented his paper ‘Contextualized Data Driven Reservoir Management for Production Management’.

Talha Moin, Petroleum Engineer, presented his paper ‘Optimization of proppant design through the integration of Production Logging and Kh data in a Tight Gas Volcanic Reservoir’.
