A new dawn broke at Barmer with Cairn’s dual initiative to transform the district’s agriculture fortune. The kickstart of Phase 2 of the KRISHI SMRIDHI campaign and upskilling programme on tractor training have demonstrated our aim to empower the farmers of Barmer.
Our journey to healthier fields took a giant leap forward with the launch of Phase 2 of our Soil Health Testing Campaign, KRISHI SMRIDHI. Partnering with Agriculture University Jodhpur, we’ve transformed a moving van into a mobile soil laboratory, harnessing the power of science and channelling it directly to the heart of rural Barmer. In just 15 days since its establishment, this innovative lab on wheels rolled to 30 villages, collecting over 100 soil samples and providing instant analysis to over 1,000 farmers. By understanding the unique needs of each field, we’re empowering farmers to make informed decisions and nurture the land for bountiful harvests.
While our Mobile Soil Testing Van aids the farmers, we have also launched a new upskilling program in partnership with Jodhpur Agriculture University. The “7 Days Tractor Training Certificate Course” inaugural batch has commenced at Cairn Enterprise Center. The 1st batch equips 21 Barmer youths with theoretical and practical tractor operation skills. This initiative is a testament to the integral role of the local community in our efforts to create new income-generating opportunities and support the agricultural sector.
Through our multifaceted approach, we are walking towards our goal of empowering farmers with knowledge and skills to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability in Barmer. This commitment is not just a promise but a reassurance that we will continue to support and uplift the farming community.
