In an era of rapid technological advancements, staying ahead in the oil and gas industry requires continuous learning and global collaboration. With this vision, Cairn’s senior leadership embarked on a strategic knowledge exchange mission to gain insights from industry pioneers.

As part of the Cairn Learning Expedition (CLE), a senior leadership delegation visited Gazprom Neft and NIS in Serbia from February 3-7, 2025. This strategic visit offered valuable insights into advanced oil and gas exploration, reservoir development, and production technologies, with a focus on Tight Oil and Shale Fields.

The delegation, which included leaders from projects, execution, planning, reservoir modeling, capex, and finance, participated in a series of technical exchange sessions, site visits, and discussions with Gazprom Neft and NIS experts. These interactions opened new opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing in areas such as exploration, drilling, enhanced oil recovery (EOR), and carbon capture technologies.

A key highlight of the visit was an in-depth look at Gazprom Neft’s success in increasing production through advanced technologies and Integrated Project Management (IPM) practices. The team also toured the Gas Processing and Amine Plant, gaining first-hand insights into CO2 capture and storage processes aimed at reducing carbon emissions. Additionally, engagements with leading service partners provided a broader perspective on emerging innovations and operational efficiencies.

This international learning experience is a significant step in our strategic vision to enhance operational excellence and accelerate growth in Tight Oil and Shale Oil fields. The insights gathered will help inform future projects and strengthen our commitment to adopting sustainable, forward-looking energy practices.
