Cairn proudly marked its 30th anniversary by participating in ADIPEC 2024, the world’s largest and most influential energy event, from November 4–7, 2024, in Abu Dhabi. This prestigious global platform allowed us to engage with international stakeholders, showcase its vision for India’s energy security, and strengthen its commitment to producing 50% of its domestic oil supply.
The event has been a dynamic convergence of global energy leaders, fostering collaboration, innovation, and dialogue. Our participation at ADIPEC underlines our role as a trailblazer in India’s oil and gas sector, driving efforts to secure sustainable energy solutions while aligning with international best practices.
A High-Impact Presence at ADIPEC
The first two days at ADIPEC were action-packed, featuring extensive discussions with global players such as Adnoc, BP, Wood Group, Baker Hughes, Weatherford, and NESR. These conversations focused on exploring synergies to enhance India’s energy security and advance our ambitious growth strategy. Our leadership team also shook hands with Shri Hardeep Singh Puri, Hon’ble Minister of Mistry of Petroleum and Natural Gas at the Middle East Energy Club (MEEC) where Cairn was present.
On third day of the conference, our leadership team demonstrated their expertise across various platforms at ADIPEC. Our Chief Financial Officer – Hitesh Vaid participated in a roundtable discussion on “Mobilising Capital to Fund the Energy Transition,” where he explored innovative strategies for financing the future of energy. Our Chief Operating Officer – Andrew McIntosh joined a panel discussion on “AI in the Energy Transition: A Catalyser or an Inhibitor?” to examine the transformative potential of technology in creating a sustainable energy landscape. Meanwhile, Ranjit Singh, Head of Reservoir Modelling, presented a technical paper on “Case Study of ABH Field,” showcasing Cairn’s cutting-edge approach to resource optimisation.In addition to these engagements, we also connected with global oil and gas operators, service providers, and media entities, including Chevron, SLB, Shell, Petrofac, S&P Global, Upstream, and Gulf Energy. These interactions underscored Cairn’s position as a key player in the international energy ecosystem.
Advancing India’s Energy Security
In an exclusive interview with Upstream, CFO Hitesh Vaid and Director of Strategy and Planning Viraj Nangia elaborated on Cairn’s growth strategy and exploration plans. They outlined our roadmap to doubling production, a critical step in achieving energy security for India.
