Ms. Priya Agarwal Hebbar and Mr. Akarsh Hebbar, accompanied by our senior management, recently visited Rajasthan to witness first-hand the positive impact of our CSR initiatives in the region’s arid landscape.
The first stop was Baap Nadi on August 21, 2023. Here they saw the result of our efforts to ensure year-round water availability. They learned about the Naadi’s role in supplying water to 10,000 community members across 25 villages and discussed its sustainability with the Sarpanch.
Ms. Priya Agarwal Hebbar, with a keen eye, immersed herself in the local folk art and engaged in heartfelt discussions with community members. It was here that the community members shared stories of transformation, highlighting how the Naadi had brought sustainable change to their lives.
Their journey continued to the Cairn Enterprise Centre (CEC) in Barmer, a hub of skill development and transformation. An emotional session with alumni and their guardians highlighted personal struggles and transformation through Vedanta’s Skill intervention. The leadership team was deeply moved by these stories of change. Over 100 individuals gathered for this inspiring exchange of experiences.
Ms. Priya Agarwal Hebbar’s exploration didn’t end there. She walked through the CSR projects immersing herself in the vibrant culture of Barmer. The CEC office showcased themes like Integrated Natural Resource Management, Dairy, and Income Generation of Self-Help Groups through the promotion of local arts and crafts and innovations in sustainable and safe menstrual hygiene management.
She engaged with business partners to understand the impact of these initiatives and how they had transformed lives.
She also launched an ESG-focused program promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly menstrual hygiene products, recognising its novelty and significance.
On August 23, 2023, Ms. Priya Agarwal Hebbar, Mr. Akarsh Hebbar, and the senior management team visited Adarsh Doonda Nandghar, where they were warmly welcomed by adolescent girls.
They learned about Early Childhood Care, efforts against malnourishment, skill-building for adolescent girls and women’s engagement in generating alternative sources of income.
Children recited poems, and mothers, and Self-Help Group members expressed gratitude for Nandghar, a cornerstone for empowering women and converging interventions.
Their journey concluded with the inauguration of a women-centric health camp at Meghwalo ki Basti, Adarsh Doondha. Gynaecologists offered free consultations, diagnoses, and medicines, with over 200 OPDs conducted, inaugurated by Ms. Priya Agarwal Hebbar and Mr. Akarsh Hebbar, and the senior management team.
This was a journey of transformation, where Ms. Priya Agarwal Hebbar and Mr. Akarsh Hebbar, alongside Cairn, played a pivotal role in bringing about positive change in the lives of Rajasthan’s communities.
