A group of women are weaving a tale of empowerment, one millet cookie at a time in the heart of Rajasthan, under the banner of JiJi Bai. Their journey, nurtured by Cairn, is a testament to the power of skill, enterprise, and community.
The aroma of freshly baked millet cookies filled the air at two prestigious running events: the Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon and the Zinc City Half Marathon. These delectable treats, crafted by the talented women of Barmer’s self-help group, JiJi Bai, were a hit with the marathon enthusiasts.
With flavours ranging from the classic Jeera (Cumin) to the indulgent Dry Fruit, these handmade cookies not only tantalized taste buds but also showcased the potential of local women entrepreneurs. The Dry Fruit flavour, in particular, proved to be a crowd favourite, with over 90% of the stock being sold out.
This initiative by Cairn is more than just a product launch; it’s a celebration of women’s empowerment. By providing a platform to showcase their skills and connect with a broader audience, Cairn is helping these women achieve financial independence and contribute to their community’s growth.
The success of JiJi Bai’s products at these marathons is a significant milestone in their journey towards self-reliance. The over INR 25,000 in sales revenue is a testament to their hard work and the growing demand for their delicious and nutritious treats.
