Stepping into the role of CHRO- Northeast at Cairn is a significant and deeply meaningful milestone in my professional journey. More than just a new role, it feels like a renewed purpose, one that I step into with pride, responsibility and a deep sense of commitment. The Northeast asset is guided by the principle of “Protect. Preserve. Produce.” These aren’t just words, they represent our core philosophy of responsible energy development, environmental stewardship and long-term value creation for both our company and the communities we serve. The moment I arrived in this region, I was struck by its natural beauty and vibrant traditions but it was the resilience and quiet strength of its people that truly stayed with me.
This region is not only among India’s most picturesque but also strategically vital to the country’s energy aspirations. With its rich hydrocarbon potential, the Northeast stands at the forefront of India’s drive towards energy self-reliance. As CHRO, I believe our ability to meet these goals is rooted in our people. My vision is to build a future-ready, inclusive and values-based culture where every employee feels seen, heard and empowered. This includes nurturing local talent, creating strong leadership pipelines and fostering a collaborative environment that encourages continuous learning and innovation. It’s about unlocking human potential in tandem with the region’s natural promise.
My previous role at BALCO, where I led HR for the Wired Rod Aluminium Sector and Growth Projects, gave me invaluable experiences opportunities to lead with trust, work alongside inspiring teams and grow through bold, people-first decision-making. While stepping into a new role always brings a sense of reflection, I feel grounded in continuing my journey within the Vedanta Group. I am energised by the opportunity to contribute to a region with such rich promise, not just economically but also socially and culturally. Together, I look forward to building something lasting and meaningful, rooted in purpose and driven by people.
