In the lush forests of Assam, where the rustle of leaves hides rare wildlife and the call of the wild echoes through ancient canopies, a new chapter in conservation has begun. With deep respect for the land and its guardians, through the Anil Agarwal Foundation’s initiative, Cairn takes a step forward in protecting India’s natural heritage. The Animal Care Organisation (TACO) has partnered with the Jorhat Forest Department, Government of Assam, to conserve and protect the biodiversity of the Jorhat Forest Division. This collaboration strengthens our commitment to environmental stewardship, blending conservation with the broader goal of socio-economic upliftment in the region.
Under TACO’s flagship initiative, Mission Vanraksha, the project will focus on bolstering forest patrolling, enhancing rapid response capabilities, and providing essential support to frontline forest staff. These efforts aim to safeguard the delicate balance of Assam’s forests, home to countless species of flora and fauna. The partnership stands as a testament to the power of collaboration between industry, government and communities to protect what truly matters.
The initiative was formally launched in the presence of Sri Nandha Kumar, District Forest Officer, Assam Forest Department and Sri Jay Shivani, District Collector, Jorhat alongside the Cairn North East leadership team. As we walk alongside those who dedicate their lives to nature’s guardianship, we are reminded that true progress includes protecting the ecosystems that sustain us all. Mission Vanraksha is not just a conservation project, it’s a promise to future generations.
