Cairn remains steadfast in its mission to uplift and empower the communities of Northeast India, fostering growth through cultural preservation, social welfare, and sustainable development. From supporting local traditions to enhancing public well-being and empowering farmers and women, our initiatives continue to create a lasting impact.
The National Foothill Drama Festival in Kharikatia, Jorhat, Assam, served as a vibrant platform for cultural exchange, bringing together border villages in a shared celebration of heritage. As a key sponsor, Cairn was honoured to support this festival, which attracted over 5,000 attendees who witnessed performances that captured the region’s rich history and spirit. Through this, we reaffirmed our dedication to preserving cultural traditions and strengthening community bonds.
Access to clean drinking water is fundamental, and Cairn has taken a step forward by installing RO purifiers in two vital public offices, benefitting nearly 500 visitors who rely on these centres for essential services. By ensuring access to safe water, we continue to prioritise the health and well-being of the communities we serve.

In our efforts to transform agriculture and empower farmers, Cairn, in collaboration with Assam Agriculture University, distributed high-yield rice seeds to 77 farmers in Naginijan. To promote sustainable practices, we provided vermi compost, reducing reliance on chemical fertilisers, and facilitated farmer registrations under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, ensuring financial protection against crop failures. These initiatives are paving the way for self-reliance and a more resilient agricultural landscape.
Women’s empowerment took centre stage on International Women’s Day in Naginijan, where 150 women gathered for a day of learning, fun, and camaraderie. Engaging activities such as musical chairs, blind hit games, and an Uruli cooking competition encouraged confidence and community spirit. Cultural performances by Village Organisation members further reinforced the strength of tradition. In a gesture of sustainability, SHG women planted trees, symbolising resilience and growth, while a safety awareness session during National Safety Week highlighted the importance of well-being in everyday life. This event was a celebration of empowerment, proving that when women come together, they uplift not only themselves but their entire communities.

Recognising the importance of education and gender equality, Cairn partnered with the District Social Welfare (DSW) of Golaghat and School CRCC representatives to commemorate National Girl Child Day at Borpathar Higher Secondary School. With 500 students and 18 staff members in attendance, the event focused on promoting education and breaking societal barriers. Inspirational talks by DSW representative Mrs. Monjolika Gogoi and CRCC members encouraged students to dream big, while discussions on the Government of Assam’s Child Marriage Prohibition Drive underscored the need to protect and uplift young girls. This initiative reinforced our commitment to creating a future where every girl has the opportunity to succeed.
Through these initiatives, Cairn continues to stand as a catalyst for positive change, ensuring that the communities of Northeast India thrive culturally, socially, and economically.
