In the peaceful setting of Suvali, a significant event took place in August – World Breastfeeding Week. It was a global celebration of the important bond between mothers and their children.
In Suvail, this event went beyond the simple gathering. The entire community came together for an awareness program that made a lasting impact. Led by Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM), it was a meeting that included healthcare professionals and community members.
The Sarpanch, Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) members, Anganwadi Workers (AWW), ASHA, ANM, and Health Staff collaborated for the well-being of women and adolescents in the area.
As a special incentive, 20 Lactating Mothers received a Nutrition kit as a token of appreciation for their commitment to caring for both themselves and their babies.
The spirit of World Breastfeeding Week extended beyond Suvali. In over 50 Nandghars, a journey of discovery began. Mothers learned about the benefits of breastfeeding and the importance of feeding their babies Colostrum, the first gift of life.
Throughout the day, knowledge was shared through quiz competitions and informative videos, turning awareness into a joyful experience.
While there were winners who received prizes, the real victory was the newfound understanding of the numerous benefits of breastfeeding.
World Breastfeeding Week not only raised awareness but also promoted health and empowerment, nurturing a future where motherhood and well-being go hand in hand.
