The future of technology in energy is here, and Cairn is taking bold strides towards it. In a groundbreaking workshop organised with Gartner, Cairn explored the transformative potential of Generative AI (Gen AI) across critical business functions such as Subsurface, Production, and Enabling. This workshop was more than just a meeting of minds—it was a vision for how Gen AI can drive innovation, improve efficiency, and unlock new possibilities within the industry.

With the support of Gartner’s methodology, which focused on dissecting complex problem statements and using the Gartner Prism to prioritise use cases, the workshop identified an impressive 80 use cases. Of these, over 40 were directly tied to the applications of Gen AI, all centred around key themes like reducing time to value, boosting efficiency and productivity, and mitigating risks.

The discussions didn’t stop at identifying possibilities. The workshop also addressed practical strategies for integrating Gen AI into existing workflows, emphasising collaboration and innovation. The potential for developing cutting-edge Gen AI applications that reshape the way we work was evident in every session.
