September at Cairn wasn’t just about work – it was a month of fervent activity, all in the spirit of a good cause as we rallied behind the #RunForZeroHunger campaign, a Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon initiative dedicated to fighting hunger.
Gurgaon Gets Moving:
The excitement kicked off in the Gurgaon office, where Deputy CEO Steve Moore led the charge. Employees joined a lively 1km fun run, their energy echoing the chants of the upcoming marathon. Later in the month, a group of “Cairn Avengers” – Harshi Rastogi, Shalini Bansal, Neha Godara, Ranjana Arora, and Rachna Sapra – led another fun run inside the ASF premises, inspiring their fellow runners and proving that fitness can be a blast.
Beyond the Office Walls:
Our dedication extended far beyond the office walls. RJ North held Sand Dune walks and registration drives, encouraging employees and business partners to participate in the Step Set Go BU Challenge. On September 21, over 20 employees embarked on an inspiring day filled with fitness, fun, and giving back. Their walk not only contributed to the ‘Run for Zero Hunger’ goal by covering 108 kilometers but also allowed them to bond with the wonderful children of Khatiyon Ka Tala Government School. The day was filled with laughter, stories, and even a furry friend from Operation Bade joining them on their journey.
Engaging in Friendly Competition:
We organised various activities to create a fun and engaging atmosphere. A Treasure Hunt challenged participants to cover a collective 84,000 steps, while a successful VDHM registration drive saw over 170 employees and business partners signing up for the marathon. The Relay Race brought together teams of TPC and business partner employees, fostering teamwork and friendly competition as they covered a total distance of 20 kilometres.
Spreading the Spirit Across Locations:
The enthusiasm wasn’t confined to just one location. RJ South hosted friendly TT matches, set up VDHM activation desks, and organized regular fun runs. Ravva saw friendly TT matches and relay races, while Suvali got active with walkathons on the beach and badminton matches.
A Collaborative Effort for a Purpose:
Our CSR initiatives were crucial in mobilizing over 600 stakeholders for the Run For Zero Hunger campaign. We aim to address malnutrition among children and animals by working with communities, including the Cairn Enterprise Centre (CEC), NCC, educational institutions, farmers, and security guards. By fostering solid relationships and mobilizing support, we significantly impact providing nutritious meals to those in need.
