Cairn has an aggressive plan to grow the Northeast into a Core BU to increase production, in-line with our vision to contribute to the nation’s energy security. Exploring the untapped potential of north-east, we have intensified our campaign with the mobilisation of two rigs in the region and spudded wells in Naginijan and Jagun North well sites located in Jorhat and Tinsukia districts of Assam respectively.
Our Jagun North well site is located near the historic, and one of the world’s oldest operational wells in the Digboi Oil Field in Upper Assam.
On the drill job is one of the newest modular rigs of our rig partner Kiri Group. With this, we now have two active rigs in Assam and potential sites identified for further exploration drilling activities over the next few months. Currently, we are producing Gas from Hazarigaon, and are on track to make Northeast a major BU in our oil and gas operations.
