As the monsoon season breathes new life into the earth, Cairn, in collaboration with the Border Security Force (BSF), seized the moment to celebrate Van Mahotsav with a mass plantation drive. Held on July 23, 2024 at 76 Bn HQ Jalipa, Barmer, the plantation drive aimed to foster environmental responsibility and camaraderie.
At 07:30 a.m. sharp, the tree plantation began with active participation from both Cairn and BSF. Distinguished guests, including Dr. Narayan Bhoot from the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board, and Cairn’s senior leadership, including Brig BS Shekhawat (Director RJ Assets), Nishant Kumar (Deputy CHRO), Pravin Kumar (Director – Projects), Ashish Kumar Gupta (Head – Projects), Cap Om Prakash (Head – Security & Admin), Seema Rayal (Manager -Planning), Dr. Bhoma Ram Jat (Chief Environment Manager), Shashwat Kulshreshtha (DGM Stakeholder Management), alongside BSF officers Mr. Rajkumar Basatta (DIG SHQ) and Mr. Satish Kumar Mishra (Comdt 76 Bn), were present to kick off the initiative.
This joint effort resulted in a strong collaboration between Cairn and the Border Security Force. Through this initiative, the distribution of over 40,000 saplings to the BSF will take place in FY’25. The plantation of native and fruit-bearing trees suitable for the arid climate marks a significant contribution to the development of carbon sinks and the creation of ecological balance.
The Plantation Drive is expected to positively impact the environment by increasing the region’s green cover, and contribute to fulfilling our ESG commitment of planting 2 million trees by 2030.
