The sun beats down mercilessly, but construction never stops. At Cairn, we know that heat stress is a serious threat to our brave workers who toil outdoors. From heat stroke to cramps and rashes, extreme temperatures can lead to illness, injuries, and even accidents.

The primary hazard to be controlled is heat-related illness. At Cairn, we have stringent guidelines and procedures in place to mitigate the risk of heat-related illnesses among our employees and site workforce. These measures include regular medical health checks, health education and training, provision of water and welfare facilities at work sites, and restricting work duties during high temperatures.

On June 4th, 2024, Mr Prakash Sharma, Lead HSE Projects, kicked off a special Safety Awareness Campaign with HAL Offshore and Nauvata Project team members.  This mobile campaign traversed across RJ North Projects and Operations work areas, including MPT, OB Township, MWP, BWP, AWP, and NI/NE field. Approximately 1,300 personnel attended the campaign across the MBA field, with over 15 on-the-spot awards presented to workers.

The campaign wasn’t just about lectures. We handed out over 15 on-the-spot awards to recognize workers who prioritize safety. Plus, our dedicated Cairn doctor and paramedic visited key locations twice a week, offering personalized heat stress prevention advice.
