In honour of National Science Day, we orchestrated a three-day Science Festival aimed at showcasing students’ scientific aptitude across three villages—Alampur, Vinod, and Sushiya—encompassing all local schools. Invitations were extended to village Sarpanch’s, school principals, and science educators.
The first day featured quiz competitions with 45 participants, where 15 excelled, one earning the title “queen of the quiz.” Day two included essay writing and elocution contests, where 15 and 30 students participated, respectively, with several distinguished for excellence.
Simultaneously, the “Foothills National Drama Festival 2024,” a significant cultural event fostering harmony between the Assamese and Nagaland communities, was held from February 2nd to 4th in Tanti Gaon, Patkai Hills, Jorhat, Assam. Organised by Cairn in partnership with the Foothills Coordination Forum, it saw participation from eight cultural groups and approximately 5,500 individuals from Assam and Nagaland, including esteemed delegates.
The festival concluded with an educational session on Cairn Oil & Gas’s hydrocarbon exploration, highlighting its potential socio-economic benefits and showcasing Vedanta Group’s CSR initiatives for community development.
On the third day of the Science Festival, the climax highlighted a Model Exhibition, showcasing innovative projects crafted from recycled materials, commending 15 participants. The festival attracted 545 students and 261 attendees, fostering active engagement.
Additionally, in partnership with the District Administration and DTO, Barmer, a Micro-level intervention program launched a Road Safety Awareness campaign running from January 15 to February 14, 2024.
The campaign included a range of activities such as vehicle rallies, Seat Belt convincer demonstrations, CPR training, eye check-up camps, Nukkad Natak, school and Cairn Enterprise Centre awareness sessions, helmet distribution in Barmer city and Nagana Thane, a felicitation program, and a closing ceremony. These comprehensive road safety initiatives positively impacted over 1000 individuals.
