Aligning with our commitment to optimising our RDG-RGT processing facilities, we’ve developed a virtual twin model that closely mirrors our actual plant conditions, including all constraints. This model performs real-time process optimisation with the primary objective of increasing our net revenue.

The output from the model consists of a set of recommended parameters, such as pressures and temperatures, which the team inputs into the plant as setpoints for operation. This process occurs twice daily, once during the day shift and once during the night shift.

According to the model’s predictions, implementing these recommended setpoints will also lead to a reduction in flare emissions. We began regularly implementing recommendations from the model into our actual plant operations in September 2023. The annual potential reduction in greenhouse gas emissions is estimated to be 4110 metric tons of CO2 equivalent. The efforts highlight Cairn’s commitment to transforming the planet and fast tracking our journey of Net Zero.
