Cairn Oil & Gas is at the forefront of unlocking the hydrocarbon potential in Northeast part of India, particularly in the Arakan Basin of Assam. With over 7,650 km² of acreage, we are set to conduct extensive exploration activities, including drilling 10-12 wells across our blocks in Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
We began test production from the Hazarigaon field, Assam in 2023, marking a significant milestone as the first company in the Northeast to commence gas flow from a Discovered Small Fields (DSF) block. A gas sales agreement with Assam Gas Company Limited (AGCL) is in place to sell 3.5 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas from the Hazarigaon field, contributing to the state’s clean energy initiative.
Our commitment extends beyond exploration activities. through programs that focus on women empowerment, gender sensitisation, and support sports and education to the communities. We are actively engaging with the local population to foster inclusive growth and development to transform communities in the region.
Progressing with our exploration activities, our unwavering focus remains on responsible operations and sustainable development of the region. The upcoming field development plan and exploration drilling will determine the viability of the fields, aligning with our commitment to maximising the region’s hydrocarbon potential while ensuring environmental stewardship and community well-being.
