In a steadfast commitment to maternal well-being, the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA), led by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), is making vital strides. Every 9th day of the month, S.Yanam Primary Health Center (PHC) comes alive with a monthly awareness session and health checkup for pregnant women.
PMSMA, a nationwide initiative, ensures universal, free, and high-quality antenatal care on the 9th of every month. This synchronised effort places maternal health at the forefront, embracing inclusivity and prioritising the well-being of both mothers and their unborn children.
The recent session witnessed around 40 pregnant women, dedicated medical professionals, PHC staff, and esteemed village elders. In addition to comprehensive health checkups, the women received nutrition packets, embodying the program’s holistic approach to care.
The Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan champions maternal health, reflecting India’s commitment to a healthier future. Through such programs, India takes significant steps toward maternal health equity, ensuring that every pregnancy is a safe and celebrated journey.
